Abstract
Based on the analysis of the Nayarits industrial specialization in the food, drinks and tobacco sector; of the regional economic concentration of area specialization; and of the linkage level made by the companies located in the industrial city of Tepic, it is shown that the abundance of natural and capital advantages are not enough to attain competitive advantages, nor significant entrepreneurial learning, when the local market is shrunk and the economic activity depends on other dynamics; available information is defective; and there is a high space concentration of industrial specialization. All these factors inhibit productive linkages and there are no adecuate institutional compensations.
