Abstract
De las nuevas tecnologías de la información, Internet se erige como la más influyente, pues en un lapso muy corto ha logrado trastocar nuestra vida. La polémica generada por la red de redes, también conocida como el sexto continente, apenas comenzó y aún es temprano para tener respuestas a las preguntas que plantea. A partir de esta confluencia de ideas, se propone contribuir al análisis que sobre Internet y su efectos se ha iniciado en el noroeste del país. El acercamiento al análisis de las nuevas relaciones humanas establecidas en el espacio virtual se realiza en estos nuevos recintos: el café internet espacio real donde la navegación se democratiza haciéndose posible para quienes tener una computadora resulta difícil y colgarla a la red aún más. Los jóvenes, como el grupo más asiduo al café Internet -y quizá el más atraído por esta tecnología-, son el objeto de análisis a través del cual se exploran las nuevas formas de comunicación y entretenimiento alrededor de la red.Open access policy
