Abstract
El presente trabajo describe y analiza cómo algunas empresas de la industria de autopartes localizadas en la región Toluca-Lerma (Estado de México) están sustituyendo materiales no sintéticos (elaborados a partir de hierro y acero fundamentalmente) por insumos sintéticos (plásticos, polímeros y fibras) en sus procesos productivos. Las evidencias señalan que en esta región existen condiciones (infraestructura, fuerza de trabajo y apoyo gubernamental) para conformar un cluster entre las firmas de la industria de autopartes y la del plástico. Sin embargo, este proceso se ve frenado por los escasos nexos de interacción tecnológica y productiva que se dan entre las empresas.Open access policy
