Resumen
El objetivo del artículo es analizar las consecuencias jurídicas y económicas de la política migratoria de tolerancia cero de Estados Unidos hacia inmigrantes mexicanos, jefes de familias de estatus migratorio mixto y deportados en la región Arizona-Sonora. En este estudio cualitativo se utilizó el método etnográfico, y se aplicó la observación participante y la entrevista semiestructurada, para recabar información de los migrantes deportados por Nogales, México, después de haber sido procesados con la Operation Streamline, y de cumplir su sentencia. Se utilizó el concepto de violencia estructural como marco interpretativo. Según los resultados, la aplicación de esta política migratoria violenta los derechos humanos de los migrantes en perjuicio de su economía personal y familiar. Los hallazgos demuestran que la criminalización de la migración indocumentada, cuando se aplica la Operation Streamline, vulnera los derechos humanos del deportado y trasforma la dinámica familiar, al producir una separación obligada, que es dolorosa y tiene amplias ramificaciones.
